History Of STEAM The Band

“Steam the Band” is the concept of drummer Joe Gigliello. He was a founding member of the original group called Steam. If you don’t remember that name, you will certainly remember their #1 mega-hit:
”Na Na Na Na Hey Hey - Kiss Him Goodbye”

After being recorded in 1969, at the Famed Mercury Records Studios in NYC by a trio of songwriters, the song soon rose to #1 on the billboard charts, and a band was needed to tour and support one of the biggest hits of that era. Joe auditioned for, and became the drummer of that group. That opportunity has led him many projects over the years.

A little over three years ago Joe decided it was time to reform the Steam band, with a new feel, to recreate the song and music we all grew up with. The result is a band that features a solid ensemble of seasoned, professional musicians. Now based in Florida, “Steam The Band ~ with it’s varied list of music ~ performs in a multitude of venues, covering several states.

The new Steam band has allowed Joe to complete the musical journey he started all those years ago.
